On the internet, in confessionals, in hushed whispers on a school bus; secrets float through the air waiting to be found, heard and forgiven. Whether you stole change from your mother's purse, had an affair with your best friend's boyfriend or poisoned the neighbour's tree to get a better view, we all keep things hidden away deep within ourselves.
Do we keep these secrets because we are ashamed, embarrassed, guilty or even fearful? Maybe it's that all these secrets we keep inside, slowly eating away at us, remind us that we're not perfect and that we never will be.
Will setting the secrets free make us feel better and allow us to find the redemption or the acceptance we're looking for? Maybe, maybe not. It's the chance you take when you reveal a secret.
